David Banning

David Banning

David Banning spoke on our lecture program in 2014.  He was well received by the brethren here, and we are delighted that he has agreed to return for our 43rd series.

David in a native Houstonian, born on October 4, 1964 to Robert and Martha Banning.  While a student at Florida College, he met Heidi Huber, and they married in 1985.  They have two sons: Todd (and wife Laura) and Jonathan (and wife Leah) and four grandchildren.  Jonathan worked in the training program and preached at Southside from 2014-2018.

Brother Banning began preaching the gospel in Huntsville, Texas.  He has since labored with congregations in Joliet, Illinois; Orlando, Florida; Beaumont, Texas; and Birmingham, Alabama.  He is currently back home, preaching for the Kleinwood church in Houston where he grew up.

In addition to his work at Kleinwood, David conducts youth events and teacher-training seminars for those who work with teens. He is the author of the Get Them Talking workbooks, a series of twenty-eight lesson books for teen Bible classes. He has also written Raising Kids Who Have A Heart For God, a workbook for parents, and co-edited Do Things Well with Warren Berkley.

David Banning is both a talented writer and a gifted speaker.  He has an obvious love for God and the souls of men.  He will help this week to learn more about “What says the Scripture?”
