Tim Stevens

Tim Stevens has led the congregational singing for The Southside Lectures every year since 2012.  He plays a vital role in the success of our program each summer.

Timothy Paul Stevens was born to R.J. and Pauline Stevens on December 17, 1951 in Houston, Texas. He married Vicki Lee Mullins in 1976. They have three daughters (Rebecca Helvey, Kayleen Dennis, and Penny Simpson), four grandsons, and four granddaughters.

Tim studied music at Florida College and San Bernardino Valley College.  After working in the railroad industry for 17 years, he began preaching the gospel for the Rio Grande Valley church in Belen, New Mexico in 1990.  He served as the local preacher in Kemp, Texas from 1997-2014.  He and Vicki now reside in Lindale, Texas.

Brother Stevens travels extensively to preach gospel meetings and conduct song worship training series for congregations throughout the United States. The Southside church is pleased to assist him with financial support in this worthy endeavor. This July, Tim will serve as co-director of the 39th annual Singing School in Wilburton, Oklahoma as well as direct the 8th annual Song Leaders’ Workshop in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He also remains active in R.J. Stevens Music, a company he and his father founded to help keep brethren supplied with songbooks and materials for the benefit of their song worship.

We proudly welcome Tim Stevens back to the 43rd Southside Lectures.
