Ken Weliever

Ken Weliever

Ken Weliever has been preaching the gospel for 58 years. While he was in high school, he preached by appointment for churches in central Indiana and continued during his years at Florida College and the University of South Florida.  Over this span of time, he has endeared himself to brethren across the country.

Ken and his wife, Norma Jean, will celebrate 55 years of marriage in August. Brother Weliever’s work has taken them to nine congregations in six states: Ohio, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, and Texas.  In June of 2018, Ken retired from local work to combine traveling with ministry opportunities abroad. For three years, they traveled full-time, visiting 36 states, 10 countries, and 48 congregations. Currently, they reside in Beverly Hills, Florida, where Ken preaches most Sundays for the West Citrus church in Crystal River.

The Welievers have two children: Kenny Jr. and Rachél Thompson. They are the proud grandparents of two grandsons, Roy and Miles, and two granddaughters, Katherine and Fern.  Their family is a credit to them and their work in the kingdom.

For the past ten years, Ken has published The Preachers Word, a popular daily devotional blog. Like his preaching, it is filled with practical and powerful observations about what the Scriptures say.  Brother Weliever was with us in 2015, and we are pleased to welcome him back to preach on this year’s Southside Lectures.
